Zeping Liu
I am a second-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Geography and the Environment at the University of Texas at Austin, advised by Dr. Gengchen Mai. My research focuses on Geospatial AI and Intelligent Earth Observation, with particular emphasis on geo-foundation models, spatial representation learning, and efficient large-scale, high-resolution remote sensing mapping.

Working on Spatial Co-Scientist project.

Developed the Spatial Co-Scientist agent system using Esri’s Generative AI Toolkit, integrating Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), LLM reasoning, and ArcGIS Pro workflows to support spatial analysis. Collected expert interview insights as training data and designed guided analysis flows for clustering and exploratory tasks to enhance LLM-driven spatial analysis. Mentored by Mansour Raad, Lauren Bennett and Ankita Bakshi.
